The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) is a US-based non-profit professional organisation providing education on gastrointestinal minimally invasive surgery. SAGES was founded in 1981. Its mission is to improve quality patient care through education, research, innovation and leadership, principally in gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgery.

The purpose of these grants is to stimulate original research in gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgery. The study may be either bench research or clinical.
