PRUK PhD Studentship Award

 Funding for pharmacy professionals to undertake a part-time or full-time PhD project on a topic related to pharmacy practice.

Pharmacy Research UK (PRUK) is a research charity that provides a range of funding and support to encourage the continued professional development of pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy for the benefit of patients and the general public.

The PRUK PhD Studentship Scheme supports pharmacy professionals in the UK conducting a PhD research project on a topic related to pharmacy practice (excluding laboratory-based projects). The overall aim of the scheme is to develop pharmacy practice research capability and capacity and provide the starting point for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to begin their journey on becoming research leaders of the future.

The award is a maximum of £99,000 to fund stipend, research and tuition costs for registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians conducting a full-time or part-time PhD in the UK.

Applicants are encouraged to consider how the outputs of their research will be used to inform practice, policy and patient outcomes. Wherever possible, applicants should aim to show how the studentship will develop and enhance their research skills and how the award will help their professional development with regards to research.
