Parkinson’s UK/MRC Joint Career Development Award
Parkinson’s UK is a long established support and research charitable organisation which aims to find a cure and improve the quality of life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s disease.
Career Development Award Fellowships are provided by Parkinson’s UK in collaboration with the Medical Research Council for the purpose of assisting talented postdoctoral researchers to lead their own research plans and establish their own research team to make the transition from postdoctoral researcher to independent investigator in research relevant to Parkinson’s.
Postdoctoral researchers based at a UK university, research institution, NHS trust or statutory social care organisation are eligible to apply.
The fellow must plan to be based at the lead organisation at which the award will be administered and all applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to strengthening the UK research base beyond the period of their fellowship.
One joint Parkinson’s/MRC career development award fellowship is funded per year. Grantholders are asked to host up to two engagement activities with people affected by Parkinson’s.
The fellowship is approximately £1 million over five years.
Applications are now open with a deadline of 25 April 2019 (16:00).
