Nominations Open for Gerda Henkel Prize in Historical Humanities

Established in 2006, the Gerda Henkel Prize is awarded every two years to an excellent and internationally acclaimed researcher working in the historical humanities. The award is part of the Gerda Henkel Foundation’s commitment for research in archaeology, history, historical Islamic studies, art history, history of law, prehistory and early history and the history of science.

The prize is open to scholars from around the world. Nominations may be submitted by researchers at universities worldwide, as well as renowned cultural and academic institutions.

The award consists of a monetary award of €100,000 which may be used at the winner’s discretion.

The deadline for nominations for the 2020 award is 17 January 2020.
