New Hubert Curien Call Launched for UK-France Partnerships

The Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) programme is implemented and funded in France by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), with support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI). The partnerships are managed by Campus France.

The primary aim of the PHC UK programme is to promote the exchange of scientific and technical excellence between research teams in France and the UK through joint research projects and bilateral research visits. In the UK it is funded by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and is delivered by the British Council.

Funding is available to cover the costs of the mobility of researchers between France and the UK. Collaborations will be funded for two years each, starting in the January following application, and may be in the following disciplines:

Mathematics

Chemical and Physical Sciences

Information and Communication Sciences

Biological & Medical Sciences

Environmental Sciences

Social Sciences & Humanities.

Project activities are expected to include research visits by doctoral students and/or early-career postdoctoral fellows.

Only proposals that have been jointly submitted to both Campus France and the British Academy will be considered. Proposals must involve researchers from each country.

Eligible research groups must be affiliated with a higher education institution or research organisation.

A maximum of £2,240 (€2,500) can be requested each year by UK and French-based researchers.

The deadline for submissions is 4 May 2020.
