IRMC Algeria Research Grants

Research grants are available to Francophone postgraduates researchers worldwide to work on a humanities or social science project relevant to Algeria.

The Institut de Recherche sur le Maghreb Contemporain (IRMC – Contemporary Maghreb Research Institute) is an institut français de recherche à l’étranger (French research institute abroad) based in Tunis, Tunisia. The Institute is managed by the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS – National Centre for Scientific Research). The Institute conducts research in the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on the history of the Maghreb region, Maghreb societies, and the politics and governance of the Maghreb.

IRMC is offering funding to support research on a topic relevant to Algeria. Disciplines of interest for this call include history, sociology, anthropology, geography, political science and urbanism/urban planning. Research should be focused on the contemporary era (from the nineteenth century onwards).
