INTERREG Northern Periphery and Arctic Launches Covid-19 Call for Project Applications

The INTERREG Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme (NPA) has launched a preparatory project call for COVID-19 project applications addressing the multiple challenges posed by the COVID-19 health crisis.

The call opened on 20 May 2020 and will remain open on an ongoing basis until 30 September 2020.

The aim is to draw on the extensive e-health expertise among NPA projects and others, to explore adaptive responses to the COVID-19 virus, to exchange innovative solutions and to pool information for the benefit of the general public and healthcare staff.

Projects are expected to make an overview of and analyse the state of the COVID-19 crisis, as well as successful and less successful practices in the NPA area relevant to the chosen theme and the geographical context, to be able to make recommendations for future actions, policy responses, and so on. The programme covers a large area including regions of the EU Member States of Finland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom and Sweden and Non EU Member States Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and Norway.

The call is open for small projects, lasting between two and four months with an indicative budget of up to €45,000 and a co-financing rate of 100%. Projects must involve a minimum of two partners from two different programme partner countries, one of which is located in a European Union Member State.

The themes to be addressed are:

1. Clinical aspects

2. Health and well being

3. Technology solutions

4. Citizens engagement and Community response

5. Economic impacts

6. Emerging themes

An Umbrella Project will also be funded, with the aim of ensuring coordination among all thematic projects, and collating their results.

All potential applicants are strongly encouraged to join the NPA Covid-19 response group to coordinate applications and establish the best possible partnership and project.

An Online Q&A session is planned to take place on 27 May 2020 at 13:00 CET. Details will be announced on NPA website.

Submissions can be made at any time up to 30 September 2020. Applications will be assessed and selected within four weeks from submission.
