Helmholtz – OCPC Postdoc Programme
Closing Date: 30/04/2022
This fellowship programme offers Chinese postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to carry out research at Helmholtz Centres in Germany.
The Helmholtz Association is a union of 18 scientific-technical and biological-medical research centres. It is the biggest scientific organisation in Germany which develops research programmes for six research fields: Energy, Earth and Environment, Health, Aeronautics, Space and Transport, Key Technologies plus Structure of Matter.
In collaboration with the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MoHRSS), the Helmholtz Association has now launched a joint funding programme for Chinese postdoctoral researchers. The programme is designed to strengthen the scientific cooperation of Helmholtz Centres with Chinese partner institutions. It is jointly administrated with OCPC (Office of China Postdoc Council), a sub-department of the MoHRSS.
The programme enables Chinese postdoctoral researchers to spend up to two years at one of the participating Helmholtz Centres to carry out research. After their research stay in Germany, it is envisaged that they will return to their home institute and continue to participate in Helmholtz projects.
Currently eight Helmholtz Research Centres participate officially in the Helmholtz-OCPC Postdoc programme: DESY, FZJ, GFZ, GSI, HZB, HZI, HMGU and KIT.
Helmholtz Association and MoHRSS have agreed to fund 30 outstanding young scholars annually.
