Grifols S.A. is a European multinational pharmaceutical and chemical company that produces blood plasma-based products and supplies devices, instruments, and reagents for clinical testing laboratories.

Grifols maintains a Scientific Awards programme to encourage and support researchers from around the world conducting innovative research to contribute to progress in health sciences. The Grifols Scientific Awards Programme currently consists of seven research grants which target specific areas of interest.

The Scientific Progress Immunoglobulins in Neurology (SPIN) Award supports research into the use of immunoglobulins in neurology, including the use of novel immunoglobulin therapies for neurological conditions.

The objectives of the programme are to:

  • Develop novel concepts in immunoglobulin research in neurology.
  • Encourage discovery of beneficial immunoglobulin applications in neurological disorders.
  • Promote research of novel therapeutic options for patients with neurological conditions.

Proposals may include, but are not limited to: efficacy, mechanism of action, safety and tolerability, quality of life, and pharmacoeconomics.
