Fyssen Foundation Invites Nominations for International Scientific Prize

The Fyssen Foundation is a French charitable organisation which aims to encourage scientific inquiry into cognitive mechanisms, including thought and reasoning, which underlie animal and human behaviour.

The Fyssen International Prize is awarded on an annual basis to recognise world-leading scientific researchers who have furthered understanding of cognition through their work in disciplines such as ethology, psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, ethnology, palaeontology and archaeology.

Each year’s competition focuses on a specific topic. The topic for the 2020 Prize is:

Technology and techniques, evolution and transmission in human populations.

Candidates should be responsible for a body of research that addresses at least two of the topic’s designated sub-themes.

Candidates should be internationally recognised and may be based anywhere in the world. Each must be nominated by a renowned scientific figure.

The award for the prize is €100,000.

Nominations for the 2020 Prize must be received by the Fyssen Foundation by 4 November 2020.
