Fyssen Foundation International Scientific Prize

The Fyssen Foundation is a French charitable organisation which aims to encourage scientific inquiry into cognitive mechanisms, including thought and reasoning, which underlie animal and human behaviour.

The Fyssen Foundation’s International Scientific Prize is awarded on an annual basis to a scientist who has furthered understanding of the processes underlying and leading to cognition. Relevant disciplines include:

Ethology

Human palaeontology

Archaeology

Anthropology

Psychology

Neuroscience.

Each year’s competition focuses on a specific topic. The topic for the 2019 Prize is: ‘Ecological psychology and spatial navigation’.

Candidates should be internationally recognised and may be based anywhere in the world. Each must be nominated by a renowned scientific figure.

The award for the prize is €100,000.

Nominations must be received by the Fyssen Foundation by 4 November 2019.
