France-Germany Hubert Curien Partnership ‘Procope’ Programme 2023

Mobility funding for researchers in Germany and in France, particularly those at an early stage of their research career, collaborating on bilateral research projects in any discipline.

The Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) programme promotes the exchange of scientific and technical excellence between research teams in France and various partner countries through joint research projects and bilateral research visits.

The Procope partnership supports the reciprocal mobility of collaborators between France and Germany. The programme is jointly administered by Campus France and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service).

Eligible joint research teams involve researchers in each country. French teams must be affiliated with higher education institutions or research organisations; companies can participate in the project as long as they are associated with an academic partner. In Germany, applications may be submitted by state and state-recognised universities and non-profit, research-active non-university research institutions.

Funding is available to cover the costs of the bilateral mobility of participating researchers between the two partner countries. The annual funding granted per project averages around €6,000 on the French side, while on the German side, DAAD provides funding up to €6,000 per year.

Collaborations will be funded for two years each and may be in any discipline. The programme focuses on early career researchers, and collaborations are expected to involve research visits by doctoral students and/or early career postdoctoral fellows.

Applications must be submitted in parallel by both French and German teams via their respective administrators.

The joint deadline for application to the 2024 programme is 23 June 2023.

Results are scheduled to be announced in November 2023 with projects to begin in January 2024.
