European Commission Launches Second Horizon 2020 COVID-19 Funding Call

The European Commission has launched a second Horizon 2020 coronavirus rapid research call.

With a total budget of €122 million, the call is part of the EU’s €1.4 billion coronavirus global response initiative and complements the first rapid call issued earlier this year.

The call consists of the following topics:

Repurposing of manufacturing for vital medical supplies and equipment (SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2A).

Medical technologies, digital tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI) analytics to improve surveillance and care at High Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) (SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2B).

Behavioural, social and economic impacts of the outbreak response (SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2C).

Pan-European COVID-19 cohorts (SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2D).

Networking of existing EU and international cohorts of relevance to COVID-19 (SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2E).

Applications are invited from legal entities in EU Member States, the UK and other countries participating in Horizon 2020.

Proposals must be submitted by the closing date of 11 June 2020 (17:00 CET/CEST).
