EU sets up fund of € 25 billion for economic consequences of coronavirus

The European Union (EU) will set up a €25 billion investment fund to combat economic problems caused by the coronavirus, which will be used to support healthcare, small businesses and the labour market.

The Fund is part of the EU’s intention to do ‘whatever it takes’ to mitigate the economic impact of the corona virus outbreak. The rules for state aid are also relaxed to make it easier to combat the problems. Immediately, €7.5 billion of the total amount will be made available. This amount is intended for investments.
