ESA/BJA International Research Grant Open for Applications

The British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) and European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA) first announced the co-funded International Research Grant in July 2019 to provide support for institutions and researchers in Europe seeking to carry out new research in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, intensive care, critical emergency medicine and pain.

The International Research Grant is now open and is inviting applications from qualified researchers at academic institutions in a country represented by the ESA Council for clinical and experimental projects that will enhance clinical practice in anaesthesia and critical care.

The project must also be carried out in one of the European countries that is represented in the ESA Council, or where the National Society is a Society Member of the ESA. Collaborative studies among different European countries are eligible.

There is a total project budget of €100,000 available for the successful proposal.

Initial applications (outline abstracts) should be submitted to the ESA by 31 October 2019.
