ERA-NET CORE Organic Cofund 2021 Call Open to Applications

The ERA-NET CORE Organic Cofund third transnational call, ‘Organic Farming Systems for Improved Mixed Plant and Animal Production ‘ is organised into the following three sub-topics:

Sub-topic 1: Robust and resilient mixed animal farming systems.

Sub-topic 2: Support for robust and resilient crop production systems.

Sub-topic 3: Eco-efficient production and use of animal feed at local level.

Funded projects should present new and innovative solutions to environmentally friendly agriculture and be in line with the organic principles. Moreover, they should contribute to supporting human health, trade and job creation and the improvement of the general competitiveness of the agricultural sector.

Projects are expected to start in Autumn 2021 and be of maximum 36 months.

Research consortia must comprise of a minimum of three independent legal entities from a minimum of three different CORE Organic partner countries participating with funding in a specific topic.

The call has an indicative budget of €5.046.775. The following funders are participating:

Algeria, MESRS – €100,000.

Bulgaria, BNSF – €306,775.

Denmark, DAFA – €400,000.

Estonia, MEM – €100,000.

Finland, MMM – €340,000 (topics 2 and 3 only).

Germany, BMEL – €600,000 (topic 2 only, specifically, breeding of berries).

Italy, MIPAAF – €600,000.

Morocco, MENFPESRS – €200,000.

Norway, RCN – €1 million.

Poland, NCBR – €600,000.

Romania, UEFISCDI – €500,000.

Slovenia, MKGP – €100,000 (topics 1 and 2 only).

Turkey, GDAR – €200,000.

The maximum budget requested from CORE Organic funds is €1 million per research proposal, but in-kind contributions may be added on top of this amount. Applicants cannot request more funds than allocated for each country by the respective funding body on a specific topic.

Applications can be submitted until 8 March 2021 (11:00 CET).
