EPSRC UK-RAS Announces New Medical Robotics for Contagious Diseases Challenge
The EPSRC UK Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) Network brings together the UK’s core academic capabilities in robotics innovation under national coordination and encourages academic and industry collaboration to accelerate the development and adoption of RAS.
As part of the UK Robotics Week, the UK-RAS Network has announced a new medical Robotics Challenge for Contagious Diseases in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Robotics research and innovation form an integral part of the response to this global crisis with robots already being redeployed to assist in hospitals, support testing and delivering medical supplies. In the case of clinical care, areas of specific importance include disease prevention, diagnosis and screening, and patient care and disease management.
This new challenge is aimed at entries that could offer solutions as part of a multi-faceted response to COVID-19 and future global pandemics. Considering the current pandemic, the challenge is being run online and applicants should submit a two-minute video demo of their entry.
Entries are welcome from all individuals or teams in the UK.
The prize fund is £15,000.
Entries should be submitted by the deadline of 30 September 2020.
