Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators Opens for 2021
Eppendorf is a leading life science company that develops and sells instruments, consumables, and services for liquid, sample and cell handling in laboratories worldwide. The annual Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators is awarded in association with the journal Nature in order to symbolise the close links between the company and the field of biomedicine. It is presented to a young researcher who has contributed to biomedical research in Europe based on methods of molecular biology, including novel analytical concepts.
The main focus is on investigating the molecular biological mechanisms of the human organism and then translating this research into practical findings. The long-term goal is the diagnosis and therapy of those diseases which have yet to be treated successfully.
The prize includes a €20,000 personal award, an invitation to the prize ceremony at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany, plus an invite to visit Eppendorf AG in Hamburg. Additionally, there will be coverage of the recipient’s work by Nature in print and a podcast.
