Eppendorf and Science Prize for Neurobiology

The annual international Eppendorf and Science Prize for Neurobiology is presented to a young scientist for the most outstanding neurobiological research based on molecular and cell biology performed during the past three years. The award was established in 2002 by Eppendorf in association with the journal Science.

Applicants under the age of 35 years old are invited to submit a 1,000-word essay detailing research projects completed within the previous three years. An independent board of scientists, chaired by the Science senior editor, will select up to three finalists and a grand prize winner. The author of the winning essay will receive a gift of $25,000 and have their essay published in Science and on Science Online. The finalists will also receive full support to attend the prize ceremony and receive complimentary Eppendorf products worth $1,000, as well as a five-year AAAS membership and a five-year digital subscription to Science.

The award will be announced and presented at a ceremony in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience. Eppendorf will assist with the costs of attending the conference and will also invite the winner to Hamburg to visit Eppendorf HQ.
