Epilepsy Innovation Institute My Brain Map Initiative Launches Call

The Epilepsy Innovation Institute (EI2) is a research programme managed by Epilepsy Foundation of America (EFA). The institute fosters new approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and explores bold new ideas and combines novel expertise and technologies from other fields of science.

Within the framework of the My Brain Map Initiative, funding is available for pilot studies that propose novel exploratory ways to model seizure propagation in a personalised brain network model. EI2 is looking for proposals that seek to test novel, unconventional hypotheses or pursue major methodological or technical challenges in network modelling for epilepsy.

The grant has a value of up to $200,000 for a duration of one year.

Eligible applicants are multidisciplinary teams of two or more established Principal Investigators (PIs). The goal is to support interdisciplinary approaches involving clinicians, neuroscientists, computer scientists, and mathematicians. Teams may consist of investigators from the same institution, different institutions, may be public/private partnerships and may be international. A representative of Ei2 will also be part of the selected winning team.

The deadline for letters of intent is 21 June 2019.
