EBNet Business Interaction Vouchers Call 2022 to Open in September

Support to help resource confidence-building measures between an academic partner and an industry partner.

EBNet Business Interaction Vouchers (BIVs) are used to encourage and support collaboration between academic and industrial partners. They are awarded to undertake a defined piece of work by the academic partner for the industrial partner. Awards up to £20,000 are awarded to the academic at 80% FEC. The amount requested from the Network must be matched at least at 80% FEC by the industrial partner. Industrial match funding must be at least 50% in cash and the remainder can be in-kind.

BIVs are intended to help resource confidence-building measures between an academic partner and an industry partner that are likely to lead to outcomes of a longer-term relationship, improved interaction, and new research technology transfer projects. BIVs are not intended to support research but rather to support the Industry partner to access academic expertise and resources to examine a specific industry issue. Grants should fund new collaborations as a priority, but can be used to fund continued collaborations.

Funds are awarded to the academic partner who must be a lecturer eligible to receive BBRSC funding. The industry partner must be UK-based. All sizes of business are considered, from microSME to large companies. All participants named on the application must be members of EBNet and based in the UK. To be eligible for IBioIC funding, HEIs must be in Scotland and industry partners must demonstrate a benefit to Scotland. IBioIC funding winners must also become members of IBioIC.

BIV Call 2022 is scheduled to open to submissions on 12 September 2022 until 27 October 2022.
