Prize to honour, encourage and reward the essential work scientists do in the field of biochemistry and biophysics.

The Dr HP Heineken Prize for Biochemistry and Biophysics is bestowed every two years by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW – Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences). KNAW is an organisation dedicated to the advancement of science and literature in the Netherlands. In addition to various advisory and administrative functions it operates a number of research institutes and awards various prizes.

The Dr HP Heineken Prize for Biochemistry and Biophysics honours an internationally leading scientist for their pioneering work and research excellence in biochemistry and biophysics.

The award is funded by the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation.
