DGOR Grants Open for Applications

Funding is available to students, researchers and institutions of higher education (Hochschulen) in Germany for scientific works in the field of operational risk management.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Operational Risk Management e.V. (DGOR – German Society for Operational Risk Management) is a non-profit association that promotes education and further education, science and research in the areas of operational risk/non-financial risk, including sustainability risk/climate risk.

The DGOR Grants (Stipendien der DGOR) are jointly offered by the DGOR and the Institute of Operational Risk (IOR) with the aim to link theory at universities and institutions of higher education (Hochschulen) with practice in the industry in the fields of operational risk/non-financial risk, including sustainability risk/climate risk.

The following types of funding are available:

  • Funding (eg for travel expenses/dataset costs) for students and doctoral candidates for dissertations and research papers on the above-mentioned risk areas: €500-2,500.
  • Funding (eg for travel expenses) for researchers holding a professorship (Lehrstühle) for practice-based seminars on the above-mentioned risk areas which are offered by universities and institutions of higher education (Hochschulen) together with companies and/or the supervisory authority: €1,000-5,000.
  • Funding for institutions of higher education (Hochschulen) to provide prizes for student dissertations and scientific works in any department on the above-mentioned risk areas: €1,000-10,000.

Eligible applicants include students, doctoral candidates and researchers holding a professorship (Lehrstühle), who can be from any department. Institutions of higher education (Hochschulen) are also eligible to apply.
