British Society of Aesthetics Offers Funding for Postdoctoral Research
This fellowship of £30,000 will support a postdoctoral researcher to undertake a project in philosophical aesthetics at a British institution for up to two years.
The British Society of Aesthetics (BSA) aims to promote study, research and discussion of the fine arts and related types of experience from a philosophical, psychological, sociological, historical, critical and educational standpoint.
The Society’s Postdoctoral Award is a fellowship tenable for up to two years at any British philosophy department to support a project in aesthetics or the philosophy of art, broadly construed, carried out by a postdoctoral researcher.
Applicants must have been granted their PhD before the start of the BSA award. Preference may be given to applicants who have not already received or been offered a postdoctoral award.
The award has a value of £30,000, to cover the fellow’s living expenses during the research period. An additional geographical allowance of up to £3,000 is also available.
Candidates for the 2023-2025 award must submit their application by 31 May 2023.
