BCRT/CCLG Ewing Sarcoma and Osteosarcoma Idea and Project Grants

Closing Date: 24/05/2024

Grants are available for research focused on Ewing sarcoma and osteosarcoma.

The Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) and the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) are partnering to fund high impact, collaborative research focused on Ewing sarcoma and osteosarcoma to improve outcomes for patients.

For Ewing sarcoma research, funding is available to support idea grants and project grants. The charities are looking to support both basic science and translational proposals with a clear focus on benefitting patients. There is a special interest in proposals focusing on the discovery, development or validation of biomarkers of Ewing sarcoma. Biomarkers may be prognostic, predictive or markers of response and may be patient sample derived or imaging biomarkers. Idea grants should prioritise obtaining preliminary data and outline a pathway to larger funding applications, while project grants must be evidence based and illustrate a clear route to clinical implementation.

Regarding osteosarcoma research, funding is available for idea grants that aim to gather preliminary data and show a clear path to larger funding applications. Projects should seek to generate hypotheses and advance osteosarcoma research, whether focusing on discovery or translational aspects, while also demonstrating consideration for patient benefit or clinical application.

Patient and public involvement in the development of research proposals is expected.
