Funding to support early career clinician scientists undertaking patient-oriented research or translational research designed to advance the treatment or diagnosis of frontotemportal dementia.

The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) is a US-based non-profit organisation (501(c)(3)) with the mission to promote and fund research into finding causes of, and cures for frontotemporal dementias (FTDs), and to educate physicians and allied health professionals about FTDs.

AFTD has announced outline details of a new programme – Clinical Research Training Scholarship – to support the development of the next generation of clinician scientists working in FTD research. The scholarship will award funding over two years to support early career researchers conducting patient-oriented research or translational research designed to advance the treatment or diagnosis of FTD.

Eligible projects include epidemiological or behavioural studies, clinical trials, studies of disease mechanisms, the development of new technologies, and health services and outcomes research.
