The Werner-Risau-Award is an international scientific prize that honours research in the field of endothelial cell biology. It is named after Werner Risau who established the internationally highly esteemed centre for vascular research at the Max Planck Institute for Physiological and Clinical Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany. The award is presented in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Zellbiologie (DGZ – German Society for Cell Biology) and presented annually early career researchers who have made outstanding contributions to endothelial cell biology.
