Single Ventricle Research Fund
Closing Date: 03/08/2023
Grant funding is provided for individual and joint research projects undertaken by researchers around the world to improve the lives of patients affected by single ventricle heart disease.
Additional Ventures is a non-profit organisation based in the United States that utilises evidence-based research and subject matter expertise to pursue innovative projects pertaining to biomedical research, climate action and the strengthening of community and democracy.
The Single Ventricle Research Fund (SVRF) is an annual research award programme focused on accelerating research and improving care for those with single ventricle heart defects. It is designed to fund research that will lead to both improved care and novel treatments based on a mechanistic understanding of single ventricle. Additional Ventures Research Roadmap was developed to serve as a framework for coordinating global resources to advance single ventricle research and clinical care.
In the 2023 cycle, the SVRF is hosting an open call, and welcomes any research with relevance to single ventricle. Resubmissions from previous cycles will also be accepted. Projects can be aligned with any specific focus areas and areas of strategic investment in the Research Roadmap, including genetics, basic cardiovascular development, tissue engineering, foetal and maternal health, computational modelling etc. Submitted proposals may span multiple areas of interest. If applicants have a compelling topic to propose that is not currently represented, they should contact Additional Ventures.
In the past, between 16 and 17 awards have been made in a given cycle.
