RCN Foundation Monica Baly GrantClosing Date: 25/10/2021
Grants for registered nurses, midwives and nursing/midwifery students to undertake small research projects related to the history of nursing and midwifery.
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Foundation is an independent charity that is committed to supporting and strengthening nursing to improve the health and wellbeing of the public. The Foundation provides a range of support and funding to help individual nurses develop their career and standard of practice and to improve nursing more broadly and raise the profile of the profession and improve patient care.
The RCN Foundation Monica Baly Grant provides funding for registered nurses and midwives, and students of nursing and midwifery, to undertake short research projects or activities related to the history of nursing and midwifery.
Applications in the following areas are especially welcomed:
- Gaps in historical research, for example, BAME nurses/midwives, nurses/midwives with disabilities
- Areas of practice where the history is not as well documented, for example: prison nursing, school nursing, mental health and learning disability nursing.
Applications should demonstrate the use of robust historical research methods and should highlight the contribution that the research can make to improve nursing or to increase the knowledge of key areas of nursing.
