QuantIC Proof of Concept FundClosing Date: –
Funding to support industrial and academic partners of the Quantum Technology Hub in Quantum Enhanced Imaging (QuantIC) conducting proof of concept projects to establish the market or technical feasibility of quantum imaging technologies with commercial potential.
The Quantum Technology Hub in Quantum Enhanced Imaging (QuantIC), headed by the University of Glasgow, is one of four quantum technology hubs funded by the EPSRC under the second phase (2019-2024) of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme.
The aim of QuantIC is to facilitate collaboration between industry and academia, and aid the development of scientists and engineers working within the field of quantum imaging, to exploit the potential of quantum science and develop a range of emerging technologies for industrial scientific, and consumer markets.
QuantIC represents a network of more than 120 academic researchers working in quantum imaging technology across eight partner universities, and a number of associated industrial partners, who work independently and in collaboration with internal and external organisations to advance the science and application of quantum imaging.
QuantIC maintains a several funds via its Partnership Resource Fund to support research and collaboration between members of the Hub and external academic and industrial organisations.
The QuantIC Proof of Concept Fund (Industrial Partnership Fund Proof of Concept – IPF PoC) supports academic and commercial partner members of the QuantIC Hub conducting proof of concept projects (with other partners as required) to establish market or technical feasibility of quantum imaging technologies with commercial application.
The objective of the fund is to fast-track the development, implementation and commercialisation of novel demonstrators, processes and/or systems in the field of imaging, as aligned with QuantIC’s priorities.
Performance targets for the technology, and a clear investment plan, must be included as part of the application. A letter of commitment to the follow-on activities and the investment plan (upon achievement of the performance targets) will also be required.
