Pfizer Launches Vaccine Preventable Diseases – COVID-19 Request for Proposals

Within the framework of its Global Medical Grants competitive grant programme, Pfizer is making funding available to support research to increase knowledge of COVID-19 epidemiology, infection, pathophysiology, and potential prevention measures.

Pfizer is particularly interested in supporting research in the following areas:

Understand impact of COVID on communities, spectrum of disease in communities, and level of herd immunity.

Postmortem Analysis of deceased persons with known or suspected COVID-19.

Eligible applicants (PIs) must have a medical or postdoctoral degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent), an advanced nursing degree (BSN with a MS/PhD), or a degree in Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, or Social Work. The applicant must be affiliated with a host institution, which may be based anywhere in the world.

Only organisations are eligible to receive grants, not individuals or medical practice groups.

The expected approximate range of grant awards is $50,000 to $250,000. However, Pfizer will consider larger grants depending on the size and scope of the programme.

Applications should be submitted by the deadline of 17 June 2020.
