MQ: Transforming Mental Health is a UK research charity committed to improving the understanding, treatment and prevention of mental illness. MQ is co-funding a new grant in partnership with Wellcome to encourage researchers working outside of psychology, psychiatry and neuroscience to apply novel approaches and ideas from their own fields to advance mental health science.

The MQ Transdisciplinary Research Grant is designed to engage with researchers working outside of the psychology, psychiatry and neuroscience fields to encourage the novel application of methods and concepts to accelerate progress in early intervention for depression, anxiety or psychosis.

Funding is aimed at innovative and bold ideas to advance the field of mental health science and further understanding of what causes mental health conditions or supports their resolution, and how to personalise and improve pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to prevent and treat depression, anxiety, and psychosis.

The chosen awardees (individuals or small teams) will have six months to review relevant literature and produce a viewpoint paper of publishable standard (eg as a review, personal view, position paper, or comment) of up to 3,500 words, as well as a single-page summary.
