Fellowships are available to researchers around the world in a broad range of medical disciplines relating to mRNA science, infectious diseases, immune-oncology, personalised cancer vaccines, rare diseases, cardiovascular diseases and autoimmune diseases.

Moderna Inc. is an American pharmaceutical and biotechnology company with a central focus on RNA therapeutics, particularly mRNA vaccines. The company’s stated mission is to deliver the greatest possible impact to people through mRNA technologies. Moderna works on the development of vaccines for a range of diseases, including influenza, COVID-19 and RSV, while working on therapeutics for other diseases, such as cancer, cystic fibrosis (CF) and certain tropical diseases.

Moderna is offering funding to support research fellowships across a range of disciplines, including clinical medicine, basic research, epidemiology, pharmacology and nursing. Funded fellowships will have a focus one or more of the following research areas:

  • mRNA science.
  • Infectious diseases (COVID-19, influenza, RSV, CMV and EBV).
  • Immuno-oncology.
  • Personalised cancer vaccines.
  • Rare diseases.
  • Cardiovascular diseases.
  • Autoimmune diseases.
