Emily’s Entourage Collaborative Grants

Closing Date: 15/09/2023

Grants for collaborative projects, involving teams of three or more investigators, to research the development of therapeutics for people with cystic fibrosis who do not benefit from CFTR-modulators, including those with rare and nonsense mutations.

Emily’s Entourage (EE) is a US-based non-profit organisation that funds research and drug development for people with cystic fibrosis (CF) who do not benefit from CFTR-modulators, including those with rare and nonsense mutations. EE aims to accelerate the development of therapies for those with CF nonsense mutations and also remove barriers and limitations preventing advancement of such therapies.

The EE Collaborative Grants support collaborative projects, involving teams of three or more investigators, undertaking research to tackling challenges in the development of therapeutics for individuals with CF who do not benefit from CTFR modulators. Research teams should possess the complementary expertise to advance therapeutic development in ways that could not be achieved without a collaborative approach.

Projects may be translational or preclinical in nature and must seek to address an overarching, urgent scientific question. Sub-projects should be designed to elucidate various aspects of the overarching question, theme, or focus.

Projects must also include evidence that the proposed therapeutic modality works – either in a cell-based assay or in an animal model or in another suitable system.
