Annual master’s programme in the field of demography.
The European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD) is an eleven-month programme offered annually to Master students (10-12 participants) in demography or related fields. The main objective of the programme is to provide students with high-level education for their future doctoral studies. Candidates acquire a solid knowledge base on the causes and consequences of demographic change, population data, statistical and mathematical demography, as well as modelling, simulation, and forecasting.
In 2023-2024, the preparatory courses will be held at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany (September-October 2023). The core courses take place at the Institut National d’Études Démographiques (INED) at Campus Condorcet, in Aubervilliers, Paris, France (November 2023-July 2024).
Upon successful completion of the programme, students may earn an official European Master in Demography delivered by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
