ECCO Global Grant

Closing Date: –

Research grants to support researchers at institutions in ECCO member countries conducting projects in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in partnership with institutions in low- and middle-income countries.

The European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), based in Austria, is a non-profit association focused on improving care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), in particular its most common forms, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. ECCO’s activities focus on Europe, as represented by its 36 member countries, and also extend to encourage collaboration worldwide.

ECCO administers several awards and grants, which are announced at its annual congress, to encourage and support innovative basic and clinical research in IBD and also research-supporting activities (such as partnership development, travel for research purposes, etc).

The ECCO Global Grant supports multi-institution projects involving institutions based in ECCO member countries and those in low- and middle-income countries. ECCO Global Grants seek to extend the outreach and global perspective of IBD research and may focus on aspects of IBD pathogenesis (eg environmental impact, genetics), epidemiology and/or clinical care, among others.

Projects must seek to address knowledge gaps and/or unmet needs relevant to low and lower-middle income countries and feature strong contributions from these countries.
