Funding is available to doctoral researchers studying human and social sciences linked to the Iberian Peninsula, the Maghreb or to the Atlantic Area for a short visit to Casa de Velázquez in Madrid, Spain.
Casa de Velázquez is a French research school in Madrid, established in 1920, which aims to promote artistic, cultural and academic cooperation and exchanges on bilateral and international scales. The school operates on a model that supports both contemporary artistic creation and scientific research in the human and social sciences. Each year, the school provides a broad programme of residencies, as well as an extensive programme of activities that are open to the public. Casa de Velázquez also houses a library that is open to anyone carrying out research from Master’s level onwards.
The scientific grants programme offered by Casa de Velázquez will allow doctoral researchers whose work requires travelling to the Iberian Peninsula to make a one-time visit of 1-3 months to the school in order to complete their studies. The research being undertaken must be in the human and social sciences and must be related to the Iberian Peninsula, the Maghreb and/or the Atlantic Area.
For the current call, successful applicants will be able to make the visit a period of 1-3 months in 2023.
